Five Rathas at Mamallapuram
After the skit, we finally got around to going over Isaac's SH bookkeeping, and we were very impressed. He's doing a great job.
We are currently raising funds to finish the first floor of this building for the SH children to live in.
Isaac owns the church building and property. The church meets on the second floor, and his vision is to finish the first floor, and make it the new Sanctuary Home location. We are currently raising $9000 to make this vision a reality.
We are currently raising $700 to install railings and grates on these stairs and another set like this at the rear of the building.
There are several sets of stairs like this on the church building, going up the the third floor. The children go easily up and down them, but there is potential for a major accident. Stair rails and grates for all of these stairs will cost $700.
We are currently raising $9000 to complete this project.

Next to the church building, which could someday be the SH location, is a nice lot that would make a great play area once it's cleaned up.
On the last day, we visited sites in Chennai. This is Santhome Basilica, where Saint Thomas (Doubting Thomas) is buried. From left: Mary, Isaac, Joany, Esther, Ellen, Ray, Amanda, and Ruth.
This archaeological site near Chennai was fantastic! This ancient temple was right on the shore of the Bay of Bengal.
It was amazing how almost nothing was restricted from access to visitors. Admission was something like 10 rupees for Indians, and 500 rupees for foreign tourists. We paid an additional 100 rupees for a guide, and 25 rupees to use our video camera. Very affordable!
Jayrao and Anil accompanied us to Chennai, too, but they took most of the photos. Isaac had visited this place once in college, but Mary and the others had never been before. We all enjoyed it very much!
These five unique temples were cut from one huge stone. This whole site was a 7th century seaport - there's lots of interesting information about it online; search for Mamallapuram or Mahabalipuram.
