Financial Needs Updated 1-25-08

**The most pressing need for 2008 is making up the difference between the falling dollar and the rising rupee. Monthly donations are no longer able to cover monthly expenses because the dollar has lost buying power. The monthly difference is over $450. We hope that eventually the dollar will rise again and this will be a short-term need, but for the time being, one-time or short-term donations to make up this difference are desperately needed.**

Other needs/opportunities, in order of urgency:

• $450 monthly difference between dollar and rupee
• $1200 – Mosquito screens for Sanctuary Home
• $400 – Five ceiling fans and one kitchen exhaust fan for SH
• New or used vehicle for SH use – prices comparable to U.S.
• $300 – Road improvement at SH to provide a parking place
• $200/wk – Weekly food distribution to children in slum area
• $900 – Finishing outdoor work and play area at SH
• $2000 – Providing mosquito nets and fixing broken windows at the hospital where the '07–'08 team distributed food

 

Money Needed For the Dec. 2007 Trip: MOST has been raised! Thank you!!

• $1800 for widows conference, including transportation, food, a saree, and a big bag of rice for each of 150 widows
• $1000 for a medical camp to be conducted in a Tenali slum
• $450 nutritious food to distribute in 3 Tenali slums
• $200 to take the SH children on a beach picnic
• $250 food to distribute to patients at a government hospital
• $1400 to buy Christmas gifts for the SH children ($20 each)

 

Other Needs:

• $600 for a refrigerator

• $? for a television (to be used for tele-education at SH)
• Please note that the travel expenses for the upcoming India team are being raised by the team members and their churches, with none being paid for by Sanctuary Home. Money donated to Sanctuary Home is used strictly for the children and operating expenses in India.
