The Children
Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.
Naga Prasad already has a sponsor.
Child profile by P.Isaac, Tenali, India
Here is a boy by name Nagaprasad, it’s a very very sad episode that his mother, father younger brother met with an accident and died. Poor thing that the villagers used to feed him insufficiently. He used to collect few small fishes and dries them and dispose. Only few pennys once in a week that could not quench his hunger. Villagers particularly requested me repeatedly to do something for him. As our congregation is available in that village. I spoke personally with him. I understood that he is very anxious to continue his studies. In this regard I appeal your good selves to experience your kindness through generous sponsorship so that he may become a real Christian and future may be prosperous
That was before...this is after...
Greetings! I wanted to tell you about our interview with Naga Prasad. First of all, we spent the week observing him play and interact with the other children, and he is a happy boy and we didn't perceive any problems. As with most of the children, when we put him on the spot with the interview, he was a bit bashful, but he still answered our questions. Naga Prasad is 10 years old and in 4th class. He is a big strong boy, eats a lot, and is a good person. According to Rajanikanth, he is respectful of his elders. In school, he likes to study English. His favorite games are kabaddi and khokho. We asked if there was anything he wanted to tell us, and this is what he said through the translator: "I am taking good food and good care, also good studies and playing good games. Good prayer. SH is very nice, everything is good. I am very much happy here. I am very thankful to God and my sponsors. I pray for John and Gloria." He asked that you please pray for his good studies and his spiritual life. He wants his sponsors to visit him. He thinks of them a lot and prays for them.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
