The Children

Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.

Shirisha already has a sponsor.

Child profile by P.Isaac, Tenali, India

Here is a girl by name Sirisha. She lost her mother due to braintumer.  Father again married.  But the step mother illtreated her, tortured and troubled her. Poor think that she is not having siblings connected neighther to father nor to mother to look after her mother.  One of the take carerers of the children in the school led us to see her a personally spoke to her she expressed her troubles and paid interest in her bright future.  May I look to your generous hands to sponsor this child so that may become a faithful Christian with her progress future.

That was before...this is after...

Greetings! I wanted to tell you about our interview with Shirisha. First of all, we observed her playing and interacting with the other children, and she is happy; we didn't perceive any problems. Shirisha is 12 years old and in 6th class. Her favorite subjects are math and Telugu. She likes to play kabaddi and skipping (jumping rope). She was shy when we put her on the spot with the interview, and didn't offer extra information except to answer our questions. She has a sweet, quiet spirit. She asked us to come again. We asked her what we could pray for her, and she said for her education and her health. I asked her what she wants to be when she grows up, and after thinking about it for a minute, she said, "a doctor."
Shirisha seems to get along well with the other girls, and she is very helpful.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  James 1:27
