The Children
Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.
Tirapathamma already has a sponsor.
Child profiles by P. Isaac, Tenali, India.
I am very much hurt by this girl story who’s name is Tirapathammma. Her parents were labourers working in the fields while going in a truck to anther place to work over there this truck collided with another truck and died both of them along with ten more persons. she was put up in her grand mothers house. Since they are grown old she was found merciless rather unkind. One of the village elders whom I know well guided me to see her I cannot explain how she was. May I in this regard urge your goodselves to see that she is in the grace of the Lord with her better future through kind sponsorship.
That was before...this is after...
Greetings! I wanted to tell you about my interview with Tirapathamma. First of all, we observed her interacting with the other children and she seems happy, and we didn't perceive any problems. Her name was probably the most difficult for us to pronounce. It's pronounced just like it looks, only they say it very fast, and they roll the Rs. She does say it on the video, so you'll hear it once we have that ready to send out. She is one of the oldest girls, and tall. Tirapathamma is 13 years old and in 8th class. Her favorite subjects are math and English. She like to play skipping (jumping rope) and ring toss. She is quiet and helpful, and especially helps with the younger girls. She usually wakes up first, and then wakes up the younger girls in the mornings. She is a leader, and the other little girls obey her. She has asked for prayers for her better future, and for some recurring stomach pain she has had. Pray for her sound health. She has a nice smile. She also says that she prays for you.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
