The Children

Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.

Tirumala Rao already has a sponsor.

Child profile by P.Isaac, Tenali, India

I am very much grieved to let your goodselves know the pathetic condition of this boy.  December 26, 2004 which caused extensive damage and shook the entire world i.e Tsunami.  It was so very grievous that his father was fishing in the sea Tsunami hit the coast.  He was vanished alive in other words body too was not seen.  Mother from then onwards has been leading a miserable life.  I quite often visit that village to evangelize people.  This boy’s mother belongs to our congregation in that village.  After having seen the merciless condition of that boy my heart was broken and spoke to his mother, she express her readiness to put this boy in the children home.  Condition was such that his mother can not provide sufficient food.  In this regard I urge your goodselves to see that this boys future is prosperous and progress through your kind sponsorship.

That was before...this is after...

Tirumalarao is 8 years old and in 3rd class. His favorite subject is English. He had a big smile when we interviewed him. He likes to play football (soccer), and he is always funny and smiling, and making others laugh. According to Rajanikanth, he is very kind and loyal with his friends, and he loves to play. He also plays volleyball. He has asked for prayers for him to have safe travels (within Tenali going to and from school, SH, and Isaac's house) and good studies.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  James 1:27
