The Children

Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.

Sponsor Rambabu Here

Child profile by P.Isaac, Tenali, India

I am very much moved to speak about this boy by name Ranbabu Oleti.  He lost his Mum & Dad in an accident.  There was nobody to look after him. His grand parents were very old, who could not feed him. He was in so merciless condition going door to door to beg food.  While I was on gospel tour one of our church members requested me in tears to help this boy.  I was very much grieved in my heart and considered this boy to keep in Sanctuary Home.  In this regard I urge your goodselves to sponsor this boy to be a best citizen of tomorrow.

That was before...this is after...

Rambabu is also small, age 8, and in 2nd class. His nickname is sometimes Tortoise, because of the shape of his head. He's very cute, and the nickname isn't an insult. His favorite subjects are Telugu and math. He likes to play football (soccer) and cricket. He said 'football' to us in English, but everyone was laughing because he was saying 'cootball' by mistake. Rambabu was also a talker: "We are getting all delicious food items and enough good studies, and good prayers. I am very happy to get the good snacks in the evening." He also said that he was thankful to stay there, because otherwise he would be in the streets gathering and begging food. He is thankful to God who gave his sponsor such a kind heart to sponsor him. He has been praying for your health and safe travels. He would like to see you face to face.

When we got the original letters from the children, most of them said they were happy about the food and care being taken of them. I wanted to know about their hobbies and interests instead - taking the food and care issues for granted. But being there and actually seeing other children who are gathering trash to recycle, and begging in the streets, unable to attend school - I see now why they all said this! It's a big deal, they don't take it for granted, and they are all very aware of the opportunity they've been given. Bless you for being a part of that gift for this boy!
