The Children

Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.

   Here is a girl by name Srilakshmi who is having a brother elder to her, lost her parents in an accident while proceeding to a wedding service.  They had a good reputation in the church. His father’s mother was looking after them for sometime.  But she too died out of hear stroke.  But father’s father who is alive not able to feed the two children they thrown out the house the condition of them was so in generous they used to beg door to door.  But what they got was in sufficient. The responsible persons in the church pittied on them and connected me while preaching the word of God.  I spoke to them personally as I was hurt by their living condition.  In this regard I urge your good self  prayerfully to see that your auspicious hands are involved to make them the best citizens of tomorrow with their prosperous future.

That was before...this is after...

Greetings! Here is your report on our interview with Srilakshmi. First of all, we observed her playing and interacting with the other children, and didn't perceive any problems. Isn't she a lot different from that original photo - remember, her original photo is the one on the SH logo! She's changed quite a bit. Srilakshmi is 10 years old and in 5th class; she is advanced in school. Her favorite subjects are English and social studies. Her favorite games are ring toss, volleyball, and khokho. She was a bit bashful when we interviewed her, and didn't talk much. According to Rajanikanth, she is a very good girl and helps others a lot. She is one of the quieter girls, also one of the smaller ones. She asked for prayers for her education and her health.

 

Because 5th class (and 7th and 10th) is so important in the Indian school system, Isaac has been using his own money to send those students, inluding Srilakshmi, to private school for the year.
