The Children
Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.
Sandyarani already has a sponsor.

It is a pitiable story this girl bears who’s name is Sandyarani . Her father was murdered by his neighbors due to disputes. Later her mother left this girl with her relations and got married again and disappeared. I cannot explain this girl’s unfavorable condition. May I in this regard urge you’re your good selves to consider her unkind situation and see that she is blessed with prosperous future through your kind sponsorship.
That was before...this is after...
Greetings! I wanted to tell you about our interview with Sandyarani. First of all, we spent the week observing her play and interact with the other children, and she is a happy girl and we didn't perceive any problems. Her nickname is Jhothi, which means light. She is in 3rd class, and is 10 years old. She is always smiling and happy, and was a little bashful to be put on the spot in the interview. Her favorite subjects in school are English and math, and she likes skipping (jumping rope) and ring toss. Through a translator, she told me, "We are very cared about in SH, even our hairs also. One lady is helping to do hair." We did see the little girls gathered around every morning to have their hair combed and braided, sometimes by Kumari (the housemother), sometimes by Victoria (the cook), or even by Mary (Isaac's wife). She has asked that we pray for her health and that she will always obey God. Jhothi is a very sweet little girl, with a kind spirit. Thank you so much for supporting her.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
