The Children
Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.
Chamondeswari already has a sponsor.

May I bring to your kind notice a story about a girl who’s name is Chamondeswari. On one bad morning her father had been to the sea on fishing as he was a fisher . Due to roughness in the sea he lost his life. After few days his body was found at the sea coast. Later his family ran in to a worsened condition. Her mother could not feed her one of my closest friend requested me whether a means is sought for he. May I therefore put forth an appeal before your goodself to see that your generous hands are involved so that he may be led better and prosperous life through your sponsorship.
That was before...this is after...
Greetings! I wanted to tell you about our interview with Chamondeswari. First of all, we spent the week observing her play and interact with the other children, and she is a happy girl and we didn't perceive any problems. I don't know if she is capable of a frown - she was always laughing and smiling, and making others laugh. She is charming. She is 8 years old and in 2nd class. When we interviewed her, she had a huge smile and was very wiggly. Her favorite subjects in school are math and English. Her favorite games are skipping (jumping rope) and kabaddi (an Indian game). When I asked what we could pray for her, she simply said to pray for her, but there wasn't anything specific. She was one of the children always around us; we saw a lot of her and really enjoyed getting to know her. She's a delightful girl and gets along well with the others. She also really enjoyed the picnic to the beach.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
