The Children
Some of the children shown on this site are without a sponsor, although all forty-eight currently live in Sanctuary Home. Previously, they lived on the streets. Those classified as orphans have no parents to care for them. Those classified as semi-orphans were also in a merciless situation: they have one living parent who has remarried, and according to their culture, they are not welcome in the new household. Some have a parent who can't care for them, and some have been abandoned. All of these children need to have their physical needs met, as well as their emotional needs and an education. If you would like to sponsor a child, please email us to find out which children need sponsors at this time. Update: All forty-eight children are sponsored. Once we complete the new SH building, we will need sponsors for an additional twenty children.
Samson already has a sponsor. Samson's brother is Solman.

We regret to inform the pathetic condition of this boy so that your good self may have an attention in his carrer. His father who was a late an adict of drugs and drinking. He borrowed money from so many people for that menial cause and committed suicide emotionally. His mother was working in the fields earning but was not at all sufficient for this boy and his brother. Later she grew sick and bed ridden. Condition of he and his brother became worst. They were roaming in the streets and urging for the food. They faild to get food. Later one of the elders of the church where they live in guided us to consider this two boys. We could get them over here in this particular regard may we whole heartedly request your good selves to see that this boy is sponsored to become better citizen in future.
That was before...this is after...
Greetings! I wanted to tell you about our interview with Samson. Samson is 12 years old and in 6th class. His favorite subjects are math and Telugu. He likes to play volleyball and Ring and Stones (not sure what that one is). He is also a good swimmer. We spent a couple of weeks observing him play and interact with the other children, and Samson seems like a happy boy; we didn't perceive any problems. He is a little more serious than some of the other kids, but nothing unusual. When we interviewed the kids, many were bashful, but Samson spoke right up with a lot of information. He says that he likes the food much and it's tasty, and that they're taking good care of him and the other kids. If he is sick, he gets good medical care. He also commented that books and pencils are provided well, and many other good things. His best friend is Srinu, and he always remembers his sponsors. He has asked for prayers for his good studies. According to Rajanikanth, Samson is always good and loyal, and is very respectful to his elders.About the swimming: I asked where the children went to swim, and was told a very amusing story by Isaac. In the early days of SH, a group of five or six boys sneaked away from SH without informing anyone, and they went to one of the canals to go swimming. The canals are very dirty - I can only imagine what's living in that water. The other children reported on the naughty boys, and Isaac went to retrieve them. I had the impression that the only physical punishment they received was a twist of the ear, but that they got quite a talking to. Isaac explained more about the nature of SH, what was being offered to them, and what was expected of them. The boys were very repentant and promised never to do it again. Isaac called all of their names and had them line up before me, each wearing a very sheepish grin, shaking their heads and making motions with their hands to indicate "never again." It was difficult to keep a straight face. So some of the boys are good swimmers, but they're not permitted to swim in the dirty canals.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
